Join The West Point Society of Oregon!

Welcome to The West Point Society of Oregon.  We’re excited to have you with us.
These steps can to get you fully integrated….

Send an email to me at: KevJByrne@gmail.com

  • When do you get to the area, or when are you expected to arrive?
  • I can add you to the Society roster and invite you to the Google Groups distribution list.
    • We are “refreshing and expanding” our Society so there is a big push on our digital outreach.
    • See the links at the bottom (LinkedIn and Facebook) and join us online.
  • Please hare some additional information to add to the roster:
    • Name, Class
    • Address/Phone (you can use current or expected, or blank for now)
    • Current Job:
    • Spouse/Significant Other:
    • Best email to use:
    • Anything else to note of interest?
Once you are in Google Groups, you will get all our email updates on events.
  • We do a monthly luncheon on the third Wednesday of the month, January through May and September through December (taking the summer off).
    The Old Spaghetti Factory
715 SW Bancroft St., Portland (off MacAdam Blvd just south of the Aerial Tram)
    11:45 AM
  • Normally the lunch is $20 (all inclusive).
  • The topics are varied and the time to chat with grads is always fun.
  • Rick Goodell ’68 (VP) puts together a super lineup every year.
  • On occasion we schedule some other social events, luncheons, Army-Navy/Air Force games, etc., so look for some good times.
  • Our annual Founders Day (March) is a great time!
    • 2012: LTG David David Huntoon, Jr. ’73, the 58th Superintendent of the U.S. Military Academy.
    • 2013: MG Raymond Rees ’66, the Adjutant General for the State of Oregon, spoke.  It was his ‘last hurrah’ as he is retiring after 51 years in uniform!
    • 2014: COL John Nelson ’89, Academy Professor with the Department of English and Philosophy.
    • 2015: BG Timothy E. Trainor, Ph.D. ’83, the 13th Dean of the Academic Board at West Point.
    • Not sure about 2015 but the event is always a great time.
  • We do an annual due of $20.
    • This is something we can worry about during FD.
    • There is no exclusion to non-due paying members but the $ helps some overhead costs, plus paying for Cadet Candidates to share with us on Founders Day before they head off to USMA.
Once again, I am excited to welcome you to the Chapter!
GO Army!
